Mel deVivar | Founder & Design Director
I’m no stranger to change and pivoted careers after working in higher education for 15+ years, Most of my career was creating learning experiences that center equity and inclusion for historically marginalized communities. I’ve brought that same mindset and approach into the digital design world as a user experience designer.
I know firsthand that design, much like education, often operates within power hierarchies. That’s why I believe design should be a co-creative process—one that empowers both the designer and the communities they serve.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I unwind by watching live shows, exploring new places and restaurants, or streaming the latest K-Dramas.
Mike de Vera | Content Strategist
Mike (he/him) is a content strategist, where he helps organizations and small businesses leverage their target audiences to craft tailored and compelling social media engagement strategies. Mike joins the team with a wealth of experience in higher education, producing digital content (video, newsletter, live programs) for computer science online students across the country.
He also leads national marketing campaigns for three chapters (Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York) of Project by Project, a nonprofit focused on philanthropy, volunteerism, and leadership in the AAPI community. Lastly, he is the founder of Lil Nomad Productions, which offers video services to nonprofits and small business entrepreneurs. When he is not working, he is on his way to another country, trying a new restaurant, or meeting other creatives.
Jessica Fred | Communication Specialist & Copywriter
Jessica Fred is a seasoned higher education professional with 15+ of experience in student affairs and working with teams. As a strategic leader, she has led multiple teams through transformative changes, focusing on professional development, collaboration, and transparent communication.
Jessica’s recent endeavors include freelance consulting, where she assists organizations in various endeavors, including crafting mission, vision, and goals that align with their core values and long-term objectives. Her experience extends into copywriting, where she has applied her skills to help organizations articulate their messaging clearly and effectively tell their story. She also provides leadership development workshops, supporting new managers and supervisors in various industries.
Jessica continues to make a significant impact across multiple sectors through her consulting and freelance work.
